I think that some parents only stay together for the child. So this is how it is with Melinda. If anything her parents would probably get divorced when she went to college, or later on in the year.
Melinda's parents fight a lot but since they had Melinda, she's the only person keeping them together. I don't think this is actually right because i think it's not fair for Melinda to keep seeing them fight over and over again and slowly see them pulling away from each other.
Melinda simply means that she knows her parents fight a lot, but she also knows that they cannot really split up or get a divorce because they have HER to worry about. Example: My friend Allegra; her parents would fight a lot, but they tried very hard not to for the sake of Allegra, but they knew a divorce would be best for them, because then she wouldn't have to put up with all of their fighting!
To Melinda, her parents marriage had been going downhill ever since before she was born. Thats why i think Melinda thinks that if it wasn't for her, her parents would have already gotten a divorce. Mostly because they always fight with each other. Causing Melinda to think that if her mother didn't become pregnant with her, her parents wouldn't be with each other any more
Melinda believes that her parents are only together because of her. They want her to have a well rounded family with a good family life. However, they aren't taking into account that Melinda realizes what they are doing and would rather have them split up than stay together and bicker. I agree with Elisa because it's not fair to Melinda. I think she probably doesn't care but they shouldn't keep living a lie.
i agree with Lexi completely because her parent fight a lot and the only reason that they are still together is because of Melinda. If her parents broke up now it would probably hurt her more then she already is and he parents don't want her to get sad so they just stay together so that she doesn't become like that.
Well that moght be true because they knew that Melinda would need both of them to be raised. If not then yes they would be divorced but that might also not be true because if they love each other then thye will stay.

The parents are like not talkative and they always get in a fight. I don't think they mean to I think they haven't work things out together.
