Speak - 1st Marking Period

Reflect on Melinda’s reaction to the first day of high school and why her fears seem more intense than that of others. Why does she say “I am Outcast” ?

She is so intense because her friends aren't her friends anymore. She is an outcast because no one will talk to her for some reason. This is why she is an outcast.

Melinda had trouble the first day of school. She was outcast because everyone ignored her. Her friends from the previous year would not even speak to her. She had a very lonely day and felt like everyone was staring at her or talking about her. The ONLY person who spoke to her was Heather from Ohio. The only reason she spoke to Heather was because she needed a pseudo friend.

She had trouble on the first day because, she has no friends and without friends you don't really get a good start at school. If she had some friends then they she would not say that she is an outcast but, because of her old friends she won't have any. Her old friends said what she did at the party to everybody probably. That is why no one is talking to her except for the girl Heather who she met on the first day she was the only one that talked to her that whole time. Hopefully she realizes that Heather is a true friend and pretty much the only person that wants to be Melinda's freind.

She has many intense feelings for high school because she is afraid of what her "old" friends will still think of her from the incident. Melinda thinks and feels as an outcast because her friends have abonded her and thinks she is different from everyone else.

Melinda's first day of school didn't go very well. All her old friends are no longer her friends anymore. This is why Melinda feels like an outcast.

Nobody would talk to her, even her old friends. She doesn't really have any friends at school anymore. That is why she refers yo herself as an outcast.

Melinda is a complete outcast, because none of her old friends will talk to her at all. Even her best friends won't say two words her her! I feel really bad for her, because I, too, have been an outcast at multiple places so I know how it feels.

Melinda had some trouble because everyone is ignoring her and her best friend id talking about her behind Melinda's back. Melinda feels that she is an outcast because she has no friends and all her old friends aren't her friends anymore.

On The first day of school she was sad because none of her friends would talk to her in her time of need. So she feels like an outcast because she is all alone and nobody will talk to her.

i think it's because Melinda 1. doesn't have any friends 2. isn't up to date with her clothes or with her style. 3. i don't think she really that open to making new friends because all her old friends ignore her and don't want to be around her.

All of her freind are not her freinds any more. Also she thinks her teacher is after her.

On her first day of school no one will talk to melinda. She crashed a party during the summer. she called the cops on a party. Many people blame her for friends and siblings that got arrested. She considers herself an outcast because her friends won't talk to her.

Melinda’s reaction to the 1st day of school was more intense then others because she had crashed a party last year by calling the cops and some people’s friends got arrested so everyone is mad at her. She says “I am an outcast” because no one wants to be her friend anymore and she is rejected by all the friends she had had before. The only friend has t this moment is Heather from Ohio.

Melinda had trouble on the first day of school because she didn't have the friends she use to have. She was also not up to date on sylish clothes. Everyone looked at her differently and stared at her. She doesn't seem very open to making new friends and she notices that she is an outcast unlike everyone one else at her highschool.

Melinda said that she is an outcast because her friends have new friends so her friends that she had don't talk to her anymore.

H>D>F> She has troubles because she didn't have any friends or anyone to talk to. She was an outcast because nobody talks to her and shes not like in one of those groups so that's why she calls herself an outcast.

On the first day of high school, Melinda feels completely alone. She compares herself to a wounded zebra because she is all alone among many predators. All of her junior high friends have deserted her and she is an outcast.

melinda does not fit into any of the "clans" at her new school. the clans are groups of people. she is "clanless" because she isnt in any clan and she has no personality or fiends. the only person that talks to her is a girl named heather.

In that part we start to get into the book and she getting good grades but her report card is weird. I mean like a D in lunch what did she criticize the cook for making the food poisonous but for what they grade her for it's funny when you can make fun of it. tee hee
